Avaya Media Servers
Avaya's media servers provide flexible and scalable building blocks to create fully-customised communications solutions. They are Linux-based to provide a robust and reliable application platform to support distributed IP-networking and centralised call processing across multi-protocol networks. All Avaya servers support industry-standard call control, management functions, quality of service (QoS), and support IP, digital, and analogue devices.
Combined with the Aura Communication Manager software and an internal Layer Two Ethernet switch, Avaya's servers can be used as a standalone converged solution or, alternatively, as a remote edge device for a larger enterprise network.
Reliability
Avaya's servers are also designed with reliability in mind. They are all fully-survivable to provide enterprise-wide disaster recovery, and in the event of an outage can maintain a dial plan across your network and capture vital information such as call detail records. For those organisations wanting even greater resilience, additional survivable servers can be strategically placed around your network to provide remote back-up in the event of a main server failure.
In the event of a disk failure, Avaya's servers can use their RAM disk to continue to provide call processing for up to 72 hours. Finally, in the unlikely event of a complete server outage the unit's Remote Supervisor Adapter board can continue to work independently and call out for maintenance. All these measures mean Avaya servers can offer unparalleled levels of reliability and resilience to meet the most demanding customer expectations.
