Simon's Verdict

The Savi comes in 2 variants DECT and Bluetooth. The Bluetooth version allows you to use the headset with a mobile phone, Desk Phone and PC softphone. The DECT version allows you use this on a PC softphone and desk phone. At first glance the headset seems to be well made and easy to put together, it comes with a headband, ear hanger (shown above), spare ear cushions, USB cable and a CD set up guide for the softphone application. In addition to this you can buy an EHS (Electronic Hook Switch) cable which allows you to pick and drop calls while away from the desk. Plantronics have made EHS cables for Avaya, Cisco, Mitel and Nortel handsets. There is a little panel on the side of the base unit that allows you to set up the Savi for different models of handsets.

If you want to use the Savi Office with the softphone application simply install the software from the CD and follow the set up guide. After a few easy steps the headset is registered with the software and away we go.

I found the call quality very good with no distortion and the styling is quite new age unlike the CS60 base. However, if you intend to use the Savi on a desk phone only, it's not worth paying extra, and instead I would go for the AWH65 which is nearly £80 less and has an EHS system built in.

The Plantronics Savi Office is a superb product if you are using it on the deskphone and PC softphone applications.
