Avaya one-X Mobile
one-X Mobile builds on the functionality of Extension to Mobile (EC500) by providing a family of mobile clients designed to further enhance the productivity of your mobile workers.
one-X Mobile clients deliver quick access to the office phone functionality via an intuitive graphical user interface. The clients support devices range from high-end smart phones to lower-end feature phones and enable compatibility regardless of the mobile devices deployed or wireless networks used.
There are 2 options for the one-X mobile application:
Two Client options:
Unified Communications (UC): This option builds on Extension to Mobile (EC500) functionality with additional unified communications application integration. one-X Mobile includes software to integrate with enterprise applications and to deliver additional capabilities such as visual voicemail, corporate directory and call logs, as well as access to additional sophisticated call handling and routing options to mobile devices through server hardware. Supported mobile clients include RIM, Palm, Java, iPhone, and Windows Mobile.
Telephony: one-X Mobile deployed in a telephony only integration on a mobile device provides single number access for both incoming and outgoing calls, as well as direct access to sophisticated features that are found on your Avaya desk phone. The implementation is software based and only requires the purchase of Extension to Mobile (EC500) software licenses added to an existing Communication Manager server.
Key Features of one-X Mobile include
- One Number: Calls initiated by the mobile device will dial-by PBX and display the caller ID of the deskphone. Calls made to the deskphone extension will ring both the deskphone and the mobile device.
- One Voicemail: Unanswered calls will be picked up by the Enterprise voicemail system, eliminating the need to check multiple voicemail systems throughout the day.
- One Device: With a single device, users can manage work-related communication through one-X Mobile, and personal calls directly on their mobile phone. Calls that are dialled via one-X Mobile are made as though from the user's deskphone. Existing infrastructure such as call recording can be used for mobile calls, and call detail recording can be used to distinguish mobile calls from desk calls for mobile phone bill auditing.
- Handoff Calls Between Mobile Device and Deskphone: Employees arriving at their desk while on a mobile call can pick up the deskphone to continue the conversation. While on a deskphone call, users can become mobile by extending the call to a mobile device.
- Savings on International Calls: Users can leverage existing corporate infrastructure from a mobile device. International numbers dialled from mobile devices are actually via the Avaya PBX. The mobile device is only making a local call to the PBX.
- Business Continuity: With Avaya one-X Mobile, users only need to know each others' normal deskphone extensions to remain connected. In the event that employees are unexpectedly unable to go to the office, everyone can remain connected and reachable.
Unified Communications Client (Advanced features):
- Visual Voicemail: Users can see corporate voicemail visually so they can prioritise messages and get to the critical ones first. Stored locally, there is no dialing into voicemail, which saves minutes and time, and the local actions are synchronised with the messaging server (modular messaging required).
- Sophisticated Call Routing: Users can route incoming office calls to any device. Calls can be automatically routed based on schedule, location or on an ad hoc basis through a quick entry feature.
- VIP Lists: Mobile workers use VIP lists to manage how incoming calls are treated. Any calls not on the VIP Lists can be sent directly to voice mail to minimise interruptions.
- Corporate Directory Integration: Easy access to corporate contacts. Incoming callers' IDs found in the directory are automatically translated showing the contact name instead of the number.
Telephony Client (Advanced PBX features):
While on a call, the user has access to features such as conference, transfer, call park, and many more. These are all accessed via a simple GUI.
